Seymour Kushner: Businessman in Profile

Have you ever wondered what the men and women who run your favorite companies do behind the scenes—who they are, and what they do, in their spare time? Where their interests lie, beyond running their business? It’s true enough that, for many business owners, running the company leaves precious little time for other activities. And yet, it is not at all unreasonable to suggest that some business owners lead varied, multi-faceted lives—lives that might truly surprise you. Case in point: One Seymour Kushner.

Who is this man, exactly? Seymour Kushner is the president of a small publishing and recording company, one that specializes in distributing products worldwide. But he is also an avid bicyclist, former motorcyclist and jeep enthusiast. He is an avid listener and attendee of musical events, with tastes that run the spectrum of genres. He attends many musical performances including jazz, dance, rock, and world music.  Perhaps the most memorable and moving performance he has attended was the Concert for NYC, in honor of all the first responders who died during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He is an athlete, a community activist, and an outdoor adventurer. Not bad for a business owner, right?

Here are a few further points of interest concerning Seymour Kushner:

  • He took  a 6 week motorcycle camping trip through the Northeast provinces of Canada, including Cape Breton, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Seymour Kushner has also motorcycled through the Shenandoah National Park, Blue Ridge Mountains and the Smokies.
  • Seymour Kushner has a BBA degree in Business Management and a Masters in Music. Much of his college research was devoted to combining the two fields. For example, he went to musical instrument factories, conducted research, and suggested some improvements in the processes, some of which were put into practice.
  • An avid track fan, Seymour competed in the running broad jump, as well as the various running events, while in high school. In college, he competed on the wrestling team. To this day, he loves watching track and field events—both at the college and the Olympic levels!
